Our Story - History of Alrewas Hayes Wedding Venue
Steeped in history, Alrewas Hayes, home to husband and wife team Toby and Bonnie (who also happened to get married here) dates back to the early 1700’s and has been beautifully restored with modern luxury. Our period residence is also perfectly placed in rural Staffordshire (and just over 30 minutes away from Birmingham) surrounded by open parkland offering brides the perfect location for their perfect day.
Our romantic, classic yet modern licensed countryside wedding venue and event team provide an individual service to each and every couple and their families offering a day (and night) to remember!Book an appointment
Toby Williams, owner, wedding operations manager and calming influence.
Toby was born at Alrewas Hayes and spent many of his childhood days running around the house and gardens, so there is nobody better to escort you around and find the best photo opportunity the venue has.
Responsible for operations, renovations, maintenance and decorations, Toby, also a perfectionist ensures the venue and event team are at their very best to deliver the ‘perfect day’.
Alongside Bonnie, Toby loves to nurture their five year old son Theo especially when it comes to playing (and watching) Rugby together.
Bonnie Williams, owner, wedding planner and creative ‘perfectionist’.
A former Alrewas Hayes bride herself, Bonnie alongside husband Toby renovated the countryside venue after their own wedding.
Brimming with ideas and passion for the wedding industry, Bonnie has lovingly redecorated the house with brides and grooms in mind. Every room has sensitively been modernised with simplicity to ensure the bride always shines.
When Bonnie isn’t meeting and greeting newly engaged couples, checking over marquee decorations, catching up on the latest wedding trends she is with their son Theo the ‘Chief Gardener’.
Georgina Kirk, wedding planner, event manager and a girl who makes dreams come true.
With her meticulous planning and attention to detail Georgina dedicates her time to turning every couple’s dreams into reality. Previously working in a bridal gown boutique, Georgina understands how important a bride’s big day truly is.
Nothing is too much trouble for this wedding planner who’s endless patience and calming personality gives brides ‘peace of mind’ their wedding is in the right hands.
This hopeful romantic loves nothing more than arranging weddings, although buying a house with her childhood sweetheart Sam and walking her pet labrador dog comes close.
Sophie Davis, the newest member of our team, joins us as wedding planner and event manager.
A self confessed hopeless romantic, Sophie came to join the team after being so impressed when she attended a wedding at Alrewas Hayes earlier this year. Sophie instantly fell in love with the venue and picturesque surroundings and decided she just had to work here!
Sophie loves travelling and has worked on lots of exciting events including the Winter Olympics in Canada and the London Summer Olympics. She is also a qualified yoga teacher and loves walking and looks forward to getting a Cockapoo next year to join her when she’s out and about in the countryside.
Her favourite thing about working here is seeing the venue on the morning of a wedding and watching all the ideas come together for the big day.
Theo, five years old, head of gardening and mini event organiser in the making.
The youngest member of the team here at Alrewas Hayes, son to Toby and Bonnie, loves to keep the venue in order, keep the security team busy and eat the odd slice of wedding cake. Starting school in September – where has the time gone!
Bridget Jones & Hula Groove
Pet Labradors, Bridget Jones and daughter Hula Groove (named after a wedding band), Head of Security and hope to be food tasters one day.
Our rural location wouldn’t be quite right without a pet labrador or two! Our loveable and friendly family pets can often be seen strolling the grounds or sunbathing – but never on a wedding (much to their dismay!)
