Alrewas Hayes Guest Accommodation

Access Statement

 

Alrewas Hayes is the family home of Toby and Bonnie Williams who give a warm welcome to everyone and will work hard to ensure you enjoy your stay. Alrewas Hayes is also a wedding, private party and corporate event venue. There are eleven guest rooms in total. Four of these rooms are situated in The Coach House which overlooks the Courtyard Garden, five of these rooms are located in The Lodge which comprises another side of the courtyard. Then there is one suite located in the main house and the final suite is situated in the entertainment wing.

 

Pre-Arrival

 

  • The property is located at the end of a long drive. Our location is peaceful and fairly remote, therefore not ideally suited to those without a car.
  • The nearest shops are located in the nearby villages of Fradley and Alrewas which are approximately 3 miles away.
  • We are superbly located next to Fradley junction and the property is central for the four ‘Fradley Walks’.
  • The nearest bus stop is situated at Orgreave which is ¾ mile away.
  • The nearest train station is Lichfield Trent Valley. Taxis are usually available at the station but we can book one in advance if required.
  • The nearest airport is Birmingham International which is 20 miles away.
  • There are a number of local taxi companies, again we can make these bookings in advance for you.

Arrival and Car Parking

 

  • Please advise us of your anticipated arrival time so we can be sure we are here to welcome you and assist with any luggage.
  • To ensure that your accommodation is ready we ask that guests arrive after 4pm. Earlier arrival may however be possible by arrangement.
  • Parking is situated in the ‘Guest Accommodation’ car park which is located in front of the office. As the main drive curves in front of the property it divides into two: The right hand drive is private and the left leads round to the carpark.

 

Main Entrance

 

  • The office and reception is situated in the building directly next to the car park which is signed ‘Office and Enquiries’ member of staff will be on hand to greet you and check in.
  • There is a small step of 140mm into the office.
  • There is a step of 80mm up into the entrance hall way of the Coach House.
  • The Honeymoon Suite is situated in the Entertainment Wing. This is accessed through the courtyard and then 4 steps down into the gallery. Through the gallery and into the hall there is a doorway that leads up to the Honeymoon Suite in the far right hand corner. There are then 15 steps up to the suite.
  • The Bently Suite is accessed from the Courtyard through a porch doorway that has a step of 90mm, there are stairs to the right leading to the Bently Suite comprising of 15 steps.
  • There is a step of 50mm up into the entrance hallway of The Lodge.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Public Areas

Dining Room

 

  • Breakfast is served in a dining room in the main house. This is accessed through a doorway under a porch leading from the Courtyard. There is a step of 90mm with a tread of 1200mm and then a step of 50mm which leads to the interconnecting dining room then turn and go through the door to your right into the Breakfast dining room.
  • Situated on the left of the entrance door is the downstairs loo.
  • The dining room is carpeted with two large rectangular dining room tables that can be increased or decreased in size to suit guest numbers for breakfast.
  • A selection of local information, maps, magazines and newspapers are available in the Dining room.
  • Breakfast is cooked to order with fresh local produce. Served between 8.30 and 9.30 but flexible when requested.
  • The menu is available in larger print if required. Please advise us of any special dietary requirements at the time of booking.
  • Suppers are not provided. There are many local places we recommend to dine and we can make reservations on a guest’s behalf.
  • Pack lunches and picnics can be provided for guests who wish to enjoy the Fradley walks and surrounding countryside. Please pre-order when booking.

 

Bar

 

  • We are licensed for the sale of alcohol. The Bar is located in the Red Room on the ground floor in the Entertainment Wing. This can be accessed from the patio area in the Courtyard where there is a step of into the Entertainment wing and then steps down into the gallery. The floors are all wooden.
  • In the bar there is a sofa and four bar stools
  • A selection of magazines and board games are available.

 

 

 

Garden

 

  • Guests are welcome to enjoy our gardens at all times.
  • The Courtyard Garden is enclosed with lawns and flower beds and patio areas.
  • The lower patio is either accessed by a ramp steps.
  • There is wooden garden furniture on the patio, two round tables and eight chairs with two umbrellas.
  • A patio heater is also available.
  • Guests may smoke in the gardens.

 

 

 

Bedrooms

 

Coach House

  • There are four bedrooms in total in the Coach House, Two bedrooms are situated on the ground floor and the other two on the first floor up a flight of 14 steps.
  • There are en suite facilities in all four rooms consisting of a shower, WC and wash basin. All taps are lever taps. Each bathroom has a shaving socket.
  • Tea and Nespresso coffee making facilities, biscuits and bottled water are provided.
  • We also provide a hair dryer and straighteners, torch, sewing kit, shoe shine cloth, shower cap and White Company toiletries, alarm clock and tissues.
  • Each room has a remote 19” Television and Wi Fi access.
  • Our beds in the Coach House are normally made with duvets which are synthetic, four pillows two of which are synthetic and two duck down. All beds have a throw and two cushions.
  • We are happy to provide sheets and blankets if preferred; each room has a spare blanket which is stored in the wardrobe. Please specify before your arrival if alternative bed linen is required.
  • Each room has a wardrobe, dressing table, bedside tables and chair. The bedrooms are not large enough to accommodate additional seating.
  • The Coach House is centrally heated with a radiator in each room that can be adjusted to suit individual needs. Each bathroom has a heated towel rail.
  • Information about local attractions, magazines are located in the entrance hall. Also available is an ironing board and iron.
  • There is a folder in each room which contains further information about Alrewas Hayes and details of emergency contacts including doctors and hospitals.

 

 

Bromley

  • Bedroom is ground floor on the left as you enter the Coach House entrance hall.
  • There are no steps into the room.
  • The entrance door and bathroom door are 760mm wide.
  • The room has a 4ft 6in double bed which is 500mm high with access from both sides.
  • There is a large curved window which has security latches and net voile for privacy.
  • The bedroom is carpeted and the en suite tiled.
  • There is a 130mm step into the shower. The tiled shower tray is 1000 x 1200mm. The WC is 400mm height with soft close and the wash basin 850mm height.

 

 

Dawes

  • Bedroom is ground floor to the right as you enter the Coach House entrance hall.
  • (Dawes bedroom is identical to Bromley)

Cranberry

  • Is located on the first floor in the Coach House. Once inside the entrance hall there is another 760mm door leading to the start if the staircase. This is a curved staircase consisting of 14 steps (250mm tread and 210mm riser) with a rope handrail. Cranberry is on the right at the top.
  • As you enter Cranberry through a 760mm doorway there is an open wardrobe directly in front of you with hanging space and shelves.
  • The bedroom opens out to the right. There is carpet in the bedroom and the floor is tiled in the bathroom.
  • The room has a 4ft 6in double bed which is 500mm high and accessible from both sides.
  • The room has a window which has a blind fitted.
  • The door leading into the bathroom is 760mm wide.
  • There is a 140mm step into the shower. The tiled shower floor is 1100 x 1500mm. The WC is 400mm height with soft close and wash basin.

 

Pinfold

  • Pinfold is identical to Cranberry apart from the size of the shower enclosure. It is 1100 x 1300mm.

 

 

Honeymoon Suite

  • The Honeymoon Suite is located on the first floor in the Entertainment Wing. It is accessed from the Hall where there is curved staircase made up of 15 steps( 280mm tread and 180mm riser) with a rope hand rail which leads to the carpeted landing into the Honeymoon Suite.
  • The bedroom is accessed through a 920mm wide doorway.
  • The Honeymoon Suite and bathroom are under floor heated with a thermostat in the bedroom. There are two heated towel rails in the bathroom.
  • The Honeymoon Suite had its own fire escape down a spiral staircase which leads out into the main car park area where the main assemble point is situated
  • Both the bedroom and bathroom have dimmer switch lights.
  • There is a wardrobe, dressing table, buffet table, bedside cabinets, bench seat, three chairs and a large circular table in the Honeymoon Suite.
  • The super king sized bed in the Honeymoon Suite is made up with a goose down duvet and 100% Egyptian cotton 300 thread count sheets. The bed also has a throw and two large cushions.
  • The en suite bathroom has a large 300mm head power shower, Castello slipper shaped island bath measuring 1670 x 520 x 420mm, 420mm height soft close WC and 860mm height double sink unit. The taps are all tear-shaped.
  • We also provide a hair dryer and straighteners, torch, sewing kit, shoe shine cloth, shower cap and White Company toiletries, alarm clock and tissues. As well as deep pile Turkish yarn towels, luxury robes and slippers.
  • Tea and Nespresso coffee making facilities, biscuits and bottled water are provided.
  • There is a 42” screen remote television and Wi Fi access.
  • There is a folder in each room which contains further information about Alrewas Hayes and details of emergency contacts including doctors and hospitals.

 

Bently Suite

  • The Bently Suite is located on the first floor in the main house. It is accessed from the Entrance Hall which leads to the dining room by a curved staircase made up of 15 steps (230mm tread & 2100 riser) with a rope hand rail.
  • The bedroom is accesses through a 920mm wide doorway.
  • The Bently Suite is heated by two thermostatically controlled radiators. The bathroom is heated by a large towel rail.
  • The bedroom has dimmer switch lights.
  • There is a large fitted wardrobe, dressing table, chest of drawers, bedside cabinets, occasional table, large armchair and dressing table stool.
  • The super king sized bed is made up with a goose down duvet and 100% Egyptian cotton 300 thread count sheets. The bed also has a throw and two cushions.
  • The en suite bathroom has a freestanding bath measuring 1640 x 420mm, 600mm freestanding basin and soft close WC.
  • A hair dryer, hair straightening irons, torch, sewing kit, shoe shine cloth, shower cap and White Company toiletries, alarm clock, tissues, ironing board and iron are provided. As well as deep pile Turkish yarn towels, luxury robes and slippers.
  • Tea and Nespresso coffee making facilities, biscuits and bottled water are also provided.
  • There is a remote television and Wi Fi.
  • The fire assemble point is in the car park situated at the front of the property.

 

The Lodge

  • There are five bedrooms in the Lodge, two on the ground floor and three up a flight of 13 steps.
  • There is a folder in each room which contains further information about Alrewas Hayes and details of emergency contacts including doctors and hospitals.

 

Crofters

  • Crofters is located on the ground floor of the lodge, it is accessed through the lodge door which has a 50mm step up. Then a right turn and then left and Crofters is located on the left before the next door.
  • The door into the room has a width of 84cm.
  • Crofters is heated by underfloor heating as well as a radiator and a heated towel rail in the bathroom.
  • The light switch for the main light in Crofters is on the right hand side as you enter and it can also be switched on and off by the left hand side of the bed. The switch for the bathroom light is on the left hand side of the bathroom door and the bedside lamps can be switched on and off individually by the switches on the cords.
  • Furniture wise there is a chair, wardrobe, stool, desk/dressing table with a mirror and two bedside tables with lamps.
  • Additional to this furniture there is a king sized bed with duck down duvet and four pillows including Egyptian cotton sheets and White Company linen.
  • The bathroom fittings are all Heritage and include a large double headed walk in shower, freestanding console basin and a WC. In the bedroom is a freestanding double ended bath.
  • A hair dryer, hair straightening irons, torch, cooling fan, sewing kit, shoe shine cloth, shower cap and White Company toiletries, alarm clock, tissues, ironing board and iron are provided. As well as deep pile Turkish yarn towels, luxury robes and slippers.
  • Tea and Nespresso coffee making facilities, biscuits and bottled water are also provided.
  • There is a wall mounted remote television and Wi Fi.

 

 

Marley

  • Marley is on the ground floor of The Lodge, it is accessed through the entrance to the lodge where there is a 50mm step up. Once entered turn right and Marley is straight ahead.
  • The door into the room has a width of 84cm.
  • Marley is heated by a radiator and a heated towel rail in the bathroom.
  • The light switch for the main light in Marley is on the left hand side as you enter and it can also be switched on and off by the right hand side of the bed. The switch for the bathroom light is on the left hand side of the bathroom door and the bedside lamps can be switched on and off individually by the switches on the cords.
  • Furniture wise there is a chair, wardrobe, cabinet, desk/dressing table with a mirror and two bedside tables with lamps.
  • Additional to this furniture there is a king sized bed with duck down duvet and four pillows including Egyptian cotton sheets and White Company linen.
  • The bathroom fittings are all Heritage and include a large walk in double headed shower, basin, a steam resistant demister mirror and a WC.
  • A hair dryer, hair straightening irons, torch, cooling fan, sewing kit, shoe shine cloth, shower cap and White Company toiletries, alarm clock, tissues, ironing board and iron are provided. As well as deep pile Turkish yarn towels, luxury robes and slippers.
  • Tea and Nespresso coffee making facilities, biscuits and bottled water are also provided.

Leason

  • Leason is accessed through the entrance to the lodge where there is a 50mm step up and then up a flight of 13 steps where you go through the door and then after a left turn it is found on your left.
  • The door into the room has a width of 74cm.
  • Leason is heated by a radiator and a heated towel rail in the bathroom.
  • The light switch for the main light in Leason is on the right hand side as you enter and it can also be switched on and off by the left hand side of the bed. The switch for the bathroom light is on the left hand side of the bathroom door and the bedside lamps can be switched on and off individually by the switches on the cords.
  • Furniture wise there is a chair, desk/dressing table with a mirror and two bedside tables with lamps.
  • Additional to this furniture there is a double sized bed with duck down duvet and four pillows including Egyptian cotton sheets and White Company linen.
  • The bathroom fittings are all Heritage and include an adjustable shower, basin, a steam resistant demister mirror and a WC.
  • A hair dryer, hair straightening irons, torch, cooling fan, sewing kit, shoe shine cloth, shower cap and White Company toiletries, alarm clock, tissues, ironing board and iron are provided. As well as deep pile Turkish yarn towels, luxury robes and slippers.

Goldspiece

  • Goldspiece is accessed through the entrance to the lodge where there is a 50mm step up and as it is located on the first floor there is a flight of 13 stairs. Once ascended it is through the first door and then if you turn left Goldspiece is straight ahead.
  • The door into the room has a width of 74cm.
  • Goldspiece is heated by a radiator and a heated towel rail in the bathroom.
  • The light switch for the corridor light in Goldspiece is on the right hand side as you enter and it can also be switched on with the main light by a switch to the right of the full length mirror. The switch for the bathroom light is on the right hand side of the bathroom door and the bedside lamps can be switched on and off individually by the switches on the cords.
  • Furniture wise there is three chairs, a circular table, bed end stool, desk/dressing table with a mirror, cabinet and two bedside tables with lamps.
  • Additional to this furniture there is a king sized bed with duck down duvet and four pillows including Egyptian cotton sheets and White Company linen.
  • The bathroom fittings are all Heritage and include a large double headed walk in shower, basin and a WC.
  • A hair dryer, hair straightening irons, torch, cooling fan, sewing kit, shoe shine cloth, shower cap and White Company toiletries, alarm clock, tissues, ironing board and iron are provided. As well as deep pile Turkish yarn towels, luxury robes and slippers.

Wyatt

  • Wyatt is accessed through the entrance to the lodge where there is a 50mm step up and as it is on the first floor there is then a flight of 13 steps and it is through the first door and directly on your right.
  • The door into the room has a width of 74cm.
  • Wyatt is heated by a radiator and a heated towel rail in the bathroom.
  • The light switch for the main light in Wyatt is on the right hand side as you enter and there is a switch controlling the lights above the bed on the left hand side of the bed. The switch for the bathroom light is on the left hand side of the bathroom door and the bedside lamps can be switched on and off individually by the switches on the cords.
  • Furniture wise there is a chair, desk/dressing table with a mirror and a trunk and a cabinet.
  • Additional to this furniture there is a king sized bed with duck down duvet and four pillows including Egyptian cotton sheets and White Company linen.
  • The bathroom fittings are all Heritage and include a large double headed walk in shower, basin, steam resistant demister mirror and a WC.
  • A hair dryer, hair straightening irons, torch, cooling fan, sewing kit, shoe shine cloth, shower cap and White Company toiletries, alarm clock, tissues, ironing board and iron are provided. As well as deep pile Turkish yarn towels, luxury robes and slippers.

Additional Information

  • There are fire extinguishers located in the entrance of the Coach House and at the bottom of the stairs in the hall way leading up into the Honeymoon Suite. In the Lodge there are fire extinguishers at the bottom of the stairs and in the upstairs corridor.
  • We have an audible Fire alarm. Please advise us if you have a hearing impairment and may not hear this.
  • The Coach House and The Lodge are evacuated from their entrance doors and the fire assembly point is in the Guest Accommodation carpark. The Honeymoon Suite has its own separate fire escape which leads into the main car park where the fire assembly point is located.
  • We do not permit smoking inside any of the rooms but you may smoke in the gardens. There are ashtrays in the patio area.
  • We are happy to refrigerate any medication. We can also keep any perishables in our fridge for a limited period.
  • Mobile phone reception is generally good.

Future Plans for Alrewas Hayes

  • We are looking at doing midweek dining and Sunday Lunches showcasing seasonal local produce.

Reservations

 

  • At Alrewas Hayes we would like to have no rules but this is not practical, so to give guests piece of mind and to ensure that the booking is secure we confirm that a reservation, whether by word of mouth, letter, e-mail, fax or telephone is legally binding. This means that we are obliged to provide accommodation and a guest is obligated to pay for it.

 

Cancellations

 

  • If a guest has to cancel one or more nights stay it is our aim to minimise the cost to them and re-let the room. If less than 48 hours notice is given and we are unable to re-let the room then 50% of the stay will be charged.
